Conquering A Social Yeti for Woodard Consulting

Just a few days after wrapping up the Atlanta Jazz Festival, c21 plunged headfirst into managing social media for a slightly different kind of multi-day event.

Woodard, the company behind the nation's largest conference for more than 1,200 QuickBooks Pro Advisor accounting professionals, Scaling New Heights, was in need of a team to remotely live-tweet and post about its 2017 event, Scaling New Heights, in Orlando. c21 took this year's conference theme – Face the Yeti – as a challenge and dove into the logistics of this monstrous undertaking.

Though the initial client request was for 400 posts in four days, c21 audited Woodard's existing social activity and shifted strategy to include a combination of live and planned content for Twitter as well as posts and photo galleries on LinkedIn and Facebook, to help drive non-conference attendees to a live stream of the conference. The entire c21 team worked in shifts to cover the 12-hour days of Power Breakfasts, breakout sessions and keynote speeches, including Stephen M. R. Covey. coordinating seamlessly with video production company Varvid (who were onsite in Florida) and with the client team to process photos, videos, interviews and live streams for social distribution and attendee engagement.

From June 4 - 7, the conference hashtag, #SNH17, amassed 14,709 social mentions and the Scaling New Heights Twitter account gained 133 followers. Tweets from the account netted a 3.4% engagement rate — a considerable increase from the 1.7% in 2016. Woodard also had the most pre-registrations in the event’s nine-year history at more than 600 for the 2018 conference.

WOO! Talk about conquering a Yeti!

What Can 40 Stories Do?

It’s PADV’s 40th anniversary! With that being said, many have never heard of the Partnership Against Domestic Violence. In order to change that, we helped them create a social media initiative to inform the community about what PADV does as well as the great people behind the organization.

The initiative, called “40 Stories,” features interviews with PADV survivors, staff, board members, donors and more, and illustrates the positive impact the organization has made on hundreds of lives. Each story is posted on PADV’s blog and Facebook posts drive clicks and engagement.

Be on the lookout for the next batch of stories on June 26. They’ll continue to be posted the last week of every month up until December.

Everyone’s Problem Campaign

Another project we helped launch for PADV alongside VML Atlanta, a global advertising and digital agency, is a campaign called, “Everyone’s Problem.”

The campaign was created after VML found that recent research shows that in 57 percent of mass shootings, the shooter has had a history of committing domestic violence assaults.

With those staggering statistics, VML created radio, broadcast and online PSA shorts that depict a series of mass shooting incidents and the history of each person who committed the crimes, which demonstrate that domestic violence isn’t just one person's problem, but everyone's.

Our role in this campaign was to help spread the word to the public and pitch the PSAs to local and national media. So far, our pitching has resulted in a WSB-TV package as well as a radio PSA airing on Georgia News Network.

Stay tuned for more to come! To watch these videos, visit PADV’s YouTube page or visit padv.org.

Vision 2020

The Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District (GPCID) is already a diverse community with international cuisine, shopping and more. However, our client wants to be the model for an internationally diverse, livable urban community. With help from us and other organizations, the GPCID is launching a year-long effort called Vision 2020 designed to attract top developers to redevelop specific catalyst sites around the district.

The plan will concentrate on:

  1. Advocating and partnering for transit, housing and catalyst projects in the area.
  2. Working in concert with the County to implement major district projects.
  3. Improving the perception of Gwinnett Place.

This program also will get our creative juices flowing and help change Gwinnettians' vision of Gwinnett Place!
