Do you think we just do marketing, PR and digital? Think again! This spring, c21 took on the challenge of coordinating volunteer efforts for the 40th anniversary of the Atlanta Jazz Festival.

Memorial Day weekend was a busy weekend for the c21 team - #c21Life. Not only were we the contracted marketing, public relations and interactive agency for the 40th anniversary of the Atlanta Jazz Festival, but also we managed more than 100 volunteers, called Jazzteers, for the 40 Days of Jazz events leading up to Memorial Day weekend and Festival weekend.
We began the coordination by sending weekly emails with volunteer opportunities for the 40 Days of Jazz events. By attending each one of these events, the c21 team was able to increase newsletter sign-ups to 10,626 people and the volunteer interest list up to 455 people!

Once volunteers signed-up for the three-day festival weekend, c21 assigned zone captains, based on volunteers’ past experiences and reliability, AND held three volunteer training sessions to review volunteer information, rules, regulations and duties of each volunteer role.
The festival weekend was full of checking in volunteers, helping them with their duties, which included managing water stations, escorting media, greeting festival goers, filming Instagram stories and much more!
c21 and The City of Atlanta thanked the hard work of our Jazzteers with a picnic on June 17. The 40 Days of Jazz and the Atlanta Jazz Festival would have not been such a success without their help!
