It’s been a big year for anniversaries! c21 is celebrating its 25th year, and the Atlanta Jazz Festival celebrated its 40th! It was an incredible event that kicked off with 40 Days of Jazz beginning April 21, and concluded Memorial Day weekend with more than 30 jazz performances from Friday to Sunday in Piedmont Park packed with more than 100,000 jazz-loving fans. From Macy Gray to Nik West to Freddy Cole, it was stunning to see the diverse turn out and laid back vibe in the park.
c21 worked with event production and management firms Elk Events and Rival Entertainment to manage the marketing, PR and digital experience for the event, including its first mobile channel. c21 exclusively offers this technology in Atlanta, which looks and acts like an app, but takes up ZERO space on a mobile device – and it can be accessed via desktop as well. We were able to update the content on the fly, and for the first time it allowed patrons to take a survey about the Festival online versus by paper.
For six months leading up to the festival, c21 pitched media for coverage, managed email marketing, social media and even volunteer recruitment. On-site, we managed credentialed media (getting a birds-eye view of Macy Gray’s first song, which we live streamed), volunteers, our social media street team and pitched in where needed.
The event was a smashing success for the city, and c21 secured some impressive results.
