Next steps on Lenox Road Scoping Study

The Lenox Road Scoping Study has been completed by our consultant, Stantec. As part of the scoping study process, we developed a Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Concept Report for the Lenox Road Complete Street Project, which includes the installation of a multi-use trail from Peachtree Road to East Paces Ferry Road. The Lenox Road Project recently received $2.4 million in funding from the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) to construct Phase 1 of the project, which runs from Peachtree Road to East Paces Ferry Road. The BCID is scheduled to release a Request of Qualifications (RFQ) in the next 30-60 days for design consultant services for Phase 1 of the Lenox Road Complete Street Project. The design process is expected to have a 12-month duration, with construction to begin in 2019.

East Paces Ferry Road Complete Street Project

The East Paces Ferry Complete Street project is underway and will include a 10-12' multiuse trail, landscaped median, pedestrian lighting and two mid-block crossings along East Paces Ferry between Roxboro Road and the Gordon C. Bynum Bridge. This project will provide pedestrians and cyclists a critical link between Path400 and the Lenox MARTA station. Construction is underway and is expected to be complete by October 2018.

Interchange Examination

Buckhead CID was recently awarded $320,000 in federal funding from the ARC to conduct a scoping study to assess the benefits of improving the existing GA 400 Lenox Road interchange and building a new interchange at East Paces Ferry Road.

The BCID is scheduled to release an RFQ for design consultant services in spring 2018. The scoping study will determine the feasibility, scope and budget to make these GA 400 interchange improvements.

Repaving Peachtree Road Schedule

The City of Atlanta is scheduled to accept bids by April 2018 for the repaving of Peachtree Road between Pharr Road and the Brookhaven city limit. The construction work will likely begin in May 2018 and be complete by the end of summer 2018.

ADA Activity

Buckhead CID will be making sidewalk and ADA ramp repairs on Roswell Road, Piedmont Road, Lenox Road, Maple Drive and Pharr Road. Construction is scheduled to start by summer 2018 and be completed by the end of 2018.
