The City of Atlanta and BCID Collaborate on Infrastructure Improvements

The City of Atlanta is partnering with the Buckhead CID to implement infrastructure bond program projects within the boundaries of the CID. For example, before the end of the year, the partnership will begin making every sidewalk in Buckhead compatible with the standards set by the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), including tactile bumps and curb cuts. The second project will repave East Paces Ferry Road behind Lenox Square all the way to Roxboro Road, as well as create a multi-use bicycle/pedestrian route from the Gordon Bynum Pedestrian Bridge over Georgia 400 up to the Lenox MARTA station, and all the way to Roxboro Road. This "complete street" project will be a significant improvement for this part of Buckhead.

"We have a great partnership with Mayor Kasim Reed and the City of Atlanta," said Jim Durrett, executive director - Buckhead CID. "We look forward to identifying even more projects that will ultimately make Buckhead the most attractive location to reside, work and shop," he added.
