Restriping Update

The restriping of West Paces Ferry between Slaton/East Andrews and Peachtree began with repaving on September 16 and will be restriped once the new asphalt can accept the new lane markings. The reconfigured lanes on West Paces will create two vehicle lanes in each direction, a center turn lane, an eastbound bike lane and a westbound shared bike/car lane. Kimley-Horn and Associates developed the new design to eliminate driver confusion. Work on a mid-block crossing at One Buckhead Plaza and Whole Foods will begin after the asphalt cures in late October. Learn more about this project.

East Paces Ferry Road was redesigned at the intersection at Bolling Way so that cars using it to get to Peachtree Road northbound now turn left from a dedicated lane, while cars heading east will merge into or stay in the right lane. This change has eliminated unnecessary weaving and a safer pedestrian zone for crossing.

The Pharr Road redesign added a center left turn lane and bike lanes, which were converted from through lanes. Despite some initial reaction to the project before completion, the new restriping is effective and appropriate for this corridor.
