BCID's Peachtree Corridor Improvement Plan Forges Ahead

Buckhead CID is working with Kimley-Horn and Associates to make operational, safety, sidewalk and beautification improvements where possible on Peachtree Road between Shadowlawn Ave. and the south border of the district.

Due to existing road constraints, this section will not be widened or contain bike lanes. The operational improvements will change vehicle lanes to include a two-way center left turn lane, three dedicated lanes southbound and two lanes northbound along with protected left turn bays at intersections. Phase II of this project will consist of streetscape changes to improve its appeal, accessibility, walkability and beautification.

On December 11, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced that Peachtree Corridor improvements from Deering Road to Pharr Road will proceed, but will not include bike lanes. A final plan will be released soon. The CID project and the Georgia DOT project will be closely coordinated.
